The Melton Mowbray Pork Pie Association was formed in 1998 to gain Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status for the world-famous Melton Mowbray Pork Pie.

We are a group of seven manufacturers of the genuine Melton Mowbray Pork Pie.  We are based in the region around Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire and believe passionately that we need to protect the product that Melton Mowbray gave to the world, from those who try to appropriate the reputation of the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie to sell products that are different and not authentic.

If PGI status is attained, the Association will act to co-ordinate the management of the registration, its standards and inspections.

We will continue to campaign for the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie, but will also support the general push to recognise the importance of our regional food heritage.

The Melton Mowbray Pork Pie Association is committed to the long-term maintenance, standards and marketing of the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie.
