The Melton Mowbray Pork Pie Association was formed in 1998 to protect the quality and reputation of the famous Melton Mowbray Pork Pie. It successfully gained Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status for the product in 2009 and now works passionately to co-ordinate the management of this status, its standards and its inspections.

The Association currently consists of ten pie producers of the genuine Melton Mowbray Pork Pie, based in the region around Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. Collectively the group work hard to raise the profile of the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie and recognise the importance of our regional food heritage.
